Frequently Asked Questions

Do you speak English?

Yes! I have studied abroad twice and worked in the travel industry. I'm comfortable guiding you in English — feel free to ask me anything during the trip.

How do I pay? Can I use a credit card?

The guide fee is paid in cash (Japanese yen) on the day of the trip. Please note that Japan is still a cash-based society — many local restaurants and shops don't accept credit cards.

What is NOT included in the guide fee?

Transportation (train, bus, taxi), admission fees, and food & drinks are not included. You pay your own expenses directly at each spot. My own expenses are covered by myself — you don't need to pay for my meals or tickets.

What happens if it rains?

Don't worry! We can adjust the plan together — Mie has museums, indoor experiences, and cozy restaurants. You can also reschedule or cancel — all free of charge.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes, anytime. Since the guide fee is paid in cash on the day, there is no cancellation fee. Just let me know as soon as possible so I can adjust my schedule.

How far in advance should I contact you?

The earlier the better — I guide on weekends only, so my schedule fills up. Ideally 2+ weeks in advance, but feel free to ask even if your trip is coming up soon.

Why Mie? What's special about it?

Mie is home to Ise Jingu — Japan's most sacred shrine — and the original Matsusaka beef, one of Japan's top three wagyu brands. Unlike Kyoto or Tokyo, you can experience authentic Japanese culture without the crowds. It's only 1.5 hours from Osaka or Nagoya.

How do I get to Mie?

Direct trains run from Nagoya (about 1 hour) and Osaka (about 1.5-2 hours) by Kintetsu Railway. I'll help you plan the easiest route from your location.

Can children join?

Of course! Families are welcome. Let me know the ages of your children in the inquiry form, and I'll suggest family-friendly spots.

Is this a tour company?

No — I'm a local resident who loves sharing the real Mie with visitors. Think of it as exploring with a local friend. You pay me a guide fee for my time, and you pay your own expenses (transport, food, tickets) directly.

I don't know which spots to choose. Can you help?

Absolutely! Just send me an inquiry with your interests (food, history, nature, etc.) and I'll suggest the best spots and route for you.

Do you make reservations for me?

No — if a spot requires a reservation , you'll make the booking yourself. But don't worry, I'll support you step by step: I'll tell you how to book, help with translation, and make sure everything is set before your trip.
